Good for you! now all u need iz to find a good wrk and good friends 2 hang out with!
I have moved to the US 2 years ago, I am living in Houston, I fund it hard in the beginnin, but within 6 months I got used 2 it, u'll get used 2 it soon, trust me.
Oh Sam! hey! Welcome to the US! You must have suffered alot till could reach, all I hope is that you like life here , people who've come from the middle east differ in their opinions, some went back months later, some stayed here and some found it awesome, it depends on the chances you get and on the way you choose. Trust yourself and think very well before any decision, try to find a job close to computer engineering then move on with others if not possible, although I find it difficult for you to work as an engineer here, but trust me, I'm sure you'll do it! Take it easy all the time.
Good for you. I expect it to be a life full of adventures, and you will like it. As Eliza said, take it easy all the time, and try to inform us later about how you find it God bless you
Thanks all! I applied online for couple places but still didn't anything back! But I got accepted few days ago in one of the Universities here in Chicago for MBA degree! Thanks to God! So please if anyone know some ppl hiring in Chicago downtown please refer me to get a part time job! I'm planning to be a full time student also!
I have no connections in Chicago, so I'm afraid I can't be of much help there. The only thing I can offer is ideas.
If you're looking for part-time work while you go to school, then usually restaurants or other retail stores are good options. Some smaller places may put signs out in the windows or still advertise in the paper. Both Target & Costco have stores in Chicago and I have heard they are good employers. They will be online. I have only been to Chicago once, but remember that the El was a pretty efficient mode of transportation, so you may not want to limit yourself to the downtown area. Although you'll want to be careful about what neighborhoods you go into. If I remember right there were some rather rough areas. Hopefully you have some friends or people there who can advise you on some things.
Remember too that large cities like Chicago are usually more expensive than surrounding areas. Both for living expenses and wages.
You may want to check at the University where you will be going to see if they have any job services for students, also.
I appreciate it and I got myself job now, a part time job! at one of the retail stores here in Chicago! Thank you Lynette though for your valuable advices.
Hopefully they give you an employee discount, many do. :)
I have read where some CEO's(Chief Executive Officers) of companies started from the ground up in their companies. So perhaps this job will give you valuable experience that you can use after you finish your degree.
